La Peñita de Jaltemba is a small beach town on the Jaltemba Bay about a 2 minute car ride north from Rincón de Guayabitos. It is commonly referred to as simply La Peñita. The name comes from a small island that can be clearly seen from nearly any elevated part of the town or from the beach.
